New Toy Story territory is announced by “Disney Dreamlight Valley.”
At the first-ever Disney and Marvel Games Showcase, Disney Dreamlight Valley unveiled a trailer for a new Toy Story area that will be added to the game later this year.
The Steam charts were destroyed as soon as Disney Dreamlight Valley, developed and published by Dreamloft, was made available earlier this week (September 6). It shot to the top in less than 24 hours. Players seem to particularly enjoy the game’s detailed avatar editor and other customization features, according to reviews on Steam.
The game, which is now in early access and will be fully released in 2023, heavily borrows from Animal Crossing while also drawing inspiration from Stardew Valley and The Sims. Players will have enough to do on their magical voyage with the life simulation game’s inclusion of aspects for crafting, cooking, fishing, and more.
A new clip published at the Disney and Marvel Games Showcase shows the player shrinking down to reach the fresh new Toy Story environment, encountering Buzz and Woody along their route. The new characters will explore and interact with the other existing characters, like Ursula from The Little Mermaid and Scar from The Lion King, and can be permanently relocated to the player’s valley.
A black denim jacket with Woody’s signature cowboy design and fringe was also displayed in the teaser, along with an all-white Buzz Lightyear outfit complete with a coordinating rucksack and unique wing decorations.
The added Toy Story DLC has no set release date, but the trailer did say “this fall,” which means gamers can invite Buzz and Woody to their valleys before the year is up.
In other gaming news, Xbox and Twitch will collaborate to hold the independent game showcase ID@Xbox on September 14. There will be information on upcoming Game Pass games and games like Metal: Hellinger and You Suck at Parking.
